Cave Of The Winds

Two different tours available in the 2,000 centuries old wonder. "The Discovery Tour" lasts just 40 minutes on well lighted easy trails. "The Wild Tour" for the more adventurous is offered 4 times daily throughout the summer and by reservation the rest of the year. Bring your flashlight, wear old clothes and have an adventure. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Over 500 wild, wonderful animals make their homes on the slopes of Cheyenne mountain. It is the only mountain Zoo in the United States. You will enjoy the breathtaking view from the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun. Open daily.


Flying W Chuck Wagon Supper & Western Stage Show

Just north of the Garden of the Gods, the Flying W features an old western town in a magnificent setting. Winter Steak House, features a sit down dinner with Western entertainment. This 1,300 plus acre park with unique red-sandstone formations at the base of Pikes Peak, offers hiking trails and a visitor center with multimedia show and interactive exhibits, shops and food. Admission is FREE.


Ghost Town Museum

Journey back in time to an Old West town of the 1800's complete with fully stocked general store, saloon and victorian home. Enjoy a theater pres- entation of the boom to bust gold mining period. Manitou Cliff Dwellings

Relive the Cliff Dwelling Indians era from approximately 1100 to 1300 A.D. The museum has been open to the public since 1907. Explore the dwellings on self guided tour.

Pikes Peak Cog Railway

A railway trip you will never forget. The highest railroad in the U.S. the Cog Railway is nine miles long, starting at 6,571 ft. above sea level and climbs to 14,110 ft . You will see a panorama of breath taking scenery with views up to 100 miles away. Despite the rugged climb, the Pikes Peak Cog Railway has a perfect safety record for more than a century. Reservations always necessary.

Katherine Lee Bates wrote the words to "America The Beautiful" after visiting the summit in 1893. Drive the 19 mile, worlds highest toll road in the comfort of your own automobile. The historic Glenn Cove Inn offers refreshments halfway up and the Summit House has a restaurant and shop.

Pueblo

Outstanding historical and recreational opportunities. Lake Pueblo State Park has 60 miles of shoreline. A 35 mile river trail system stretches from the lake to the northeastern fringe of the city. City Park features the Zoo and a vintage hand carved carousel. Union Ave. Historic District is restored in great part and features some of Colorado's finest cafes and pubs. Many specialty shops plus the the grand old Pueblo Union Depot. The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk Project is a beautiful addition to the city. Royal Gorge Bridge

One of America's most spectacular attractions, the world's highest suspension bridge. It spans the Arkansas River at a height of 1,053 feet. The 360 acre park surrounding the Royal Gorge offer many scenic overlooks.You may also ride an aerial tramway across the chasm or take a ride down the canyon in the worlds steepest incline railway. Chaffee County Bisected North/South by Hwy.285 The Sawatch range features more 14,000 ft. Mountain peaks than any other mountain range in the continental US. Buena Vista & Salida are Colorado's river rafting capitol, great fishing & mountain biking are also available.

Limited stakes gambling have brought new life to the area The new Central City Parkway is a marvel of .engineering, with beautiful views.


Grand County

The worlds largest flat top mountain is Grand Mesa, the 63 mile Grand Mesa Scenic & Historic Byway was recently named one of 10 National Scenic Byways. There are 220 stream fed lakes and lush forest on the Mesa, rising 10,000 feet above the Grand Valley. The valley is abundant with orchards and vineyards, a recognized focal point of Colorado's rapidly growing wine industry. The town of Grand Junction with its Museum of Western Colorado's Dinosaur Valley, sits in the Grand Valley. Fruita is 1 of the 10 best fat tire biking towns in the U.S.

Set between the mountains and the desert.The 125,000 acre Mesa Verde National Park began operation in 1972 featuring many archeological sites, mainly Anasazi sites. Hovenweep National Otero County U.S.Hwy.50 East of Pueblo The Comanche National Grassland and the historic 1846 fur trading fort, Bent's Old Fort at La Junta are two outstanding features of this area.


Ouray County

Ouray is located in the heart of some of the most spectacular scenery and recreational opportunities in the nation. Hwy. 550 is called the most scenic 70 miles in Colorado. The abundance of water falls and beautiful scenery make for some of the greatest 4 wheeling anywhere. Ice climbers from across the country come to test the falls in the winter. Ridgeway Reservoir offers boating & fishing. Adjoining counties of San Jaun & San Miguel, with Telluride, worldclass skiing and wonderful old Western town and the historic town of Silverton, round out this most beautiful area.

The South Park City Museum in Fairplay with 32 original buildings and 60,000 Artifacts is Colorado's most authentic collection of 19th. century mining history. There are ten miles of Gold Metal fishing streams and three reservoirs in Park County.


Pitkin County

Breathtaking Independence Pass (summer only), the Maroon Bells, Roaring Fork and Crystal Rivers. World class shopping and all winter sports in Aspen, Snowmass, and surrounding areas. The famous Film, Dance and Music Festivals in Aspen make summer a special time. Also see the Redstone Castle & the village of Marble. When ski season is over there are the Yampa River Trail and a tennis center. Until the 1800's, the Ute Indians spent summers here, drawn by the hot mineral springs, water, fish and game.
