Colorado Vignette - Corn Maze, Denver Botanic Gardens At Chatfield

Get lost in the giant cornfield maze this fall at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield’s 6th Annual Corn Maze. This year’s Maze is the most challenging yet and will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from September 3 thru October 31, 2005.

The newly designed 5 acre cornfield is in the shape of three columbine flowers and features numerous twisting, turning and dead-end pathways created by 9- foot tall stalks of corn. Test your directional abilities as you attempt to maneuver through the convoluted pathways of the Maze.

For the less adventurous, two 15-foot tall Illuminated bridges will overlook the giant Corn Maze, and a “mini-maze” adventure will thrill younger children.

Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield is located at 8500 Deer Creek Canyon Road in Littleton, just south of C-470 on Wadsworth Boulevard. Chatfield features 750 acres of plants, wildlife, grasslands and protected wetlands.

The corn Maze is sponsored by Mike Shaw Automotive (presenting sponsor), Mix 100, 5820 Magazine and the Denver Post.

Hours of operation are Fridays: 4:-10:pm, Saturdays: 10:am - 10:pm, Sundays: Noon - 8:pm. Ticket windows close one hour in advance of Maze closure. All proceeds from the Maze enhance the Garden’s education, horticulture and conservation programs. 303-973-3705 or www.botanicgardens.org
