Featured Restaurant - Benihana

When the first Benihana opened in 1964, Japanese cuisine was unknown to the United States and the idea of having a chef prepare a meal at your table was completely unheard of. Blending exotic Japanese dishes with a dazzling chef performance may have been a radical idea, but it was the recipe for success at Benihana.

Rocky Aoki, the eldest son of a restaurant owner in Japan came to America as a member of the Japanese Olympic wrestling team. After working 7 days a week selling ice cream in New York City and studying restaurant management, he opened his first four table restaurant. After a slow start, his little restaurant became a success. His motto for a restaurant to succeed is that it must be distinctive enough to bring customers through the doors for the first time and good enough to keep them coming back

Rocky's sons are now active in the business and carry on the tradition of great food and a knife-wielding experience. Benihana has found the magic recipe for its continued growth and success.

In Denver enjoy this combination at 3295 Tamarac, just off Hampden Ave. Call for times and more information, 303-750-0200.
