Vignette - Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys The collection reflects a tradition of miniatures, dolls and toys ranging from the 16th century to modern times, and includes pieces from all over the world. They offer the visitor a glimpse of daily life in the past and present. The museum offers a diverse range of programs suited to all members of the greater Denver community, from pre-school children to senior citizens. These programs are designed to inform, entertain and educate, while fostering a greater appreciation and understanding of the universal human fascination with miniatures and toys.
Work and research space is available at DMMDT, with most of the magazines in numerical order. Search, Index of How-To Projects, from 1974-2002. If you want to make something in miniature, this is the place to look for published instructions and/or patterns! In 1998 the museum was awarded a large Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant for general operating support. IMLS is a federally funded organization based in Washington D.C. and awards grants to only a select few of their thousands of applicants. The museum is located at 1880 Gaylord St., Denver.
